
LONDON (7 July, 2011): David Boyle has joined Aon Risk Solutions (ARS) aviation team as head of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Based in London, David reports directly to Simon Knechtli, global head of airlines and head of ARS’ aviation team.
Boyle joins Aon from Willis, where he was regional director for APAC. He started his career in insurance as a claims broker in 1993 at Marsh, rising to vice president of the firm in 2000, before joining Willis in 2002.

Please see comment from Professor Bill McGuire, professor at the Aon Benfield UCL Hazard Research Centre, on the cloud of ash from Iceland’s erupting Eyjafjöll volcano heading towards the UK, causing major disruption to UK domestic air traffic.
Background
The 1600 meter high Eyjafjöll volcano (also known as Eyjafjallajökull) is located in southern Iceland, immediately west of Katla volcano. Eyjafjöll is an elongated, ice-covered volcano topped by a 2.5 kilometre wide summit caldera. The volcano appears to have been relatively inactive over the last 10,000 years, and the sole historical eruption, prior to this year, occurred in 1821.

LONDON, 1 February 2010: Aon has made six new appointments to its General Aviation team, specialising in industrial aid and commercial aircraft. The appointments have been made to further improve business support and create a robust platform for revenue growth in 2010.
The appointees will reinforce the existing team responsible for servicing and broking for clients, ranging from private aircraft owners and major commercial executive jet fleets to offshore support helicopters.
